The 2018-2019 Company Calendar
The SouthWest StageWorks company produces and coordinates many performance, festival, social, and educational events over the course of each season. Most taking place in the Studio 108 space at Wilson High School, these events provide a variety of ways to enjoy the work of (SW)2's artists...and many are free to the public!
Check out the listings below for more information about each of these exciting events...and be on the lookout for even more!
ShortWorks: the OneActs
Our festival of student-directed, student-produced short plays, ShortWorks features up-and-coming actors from WHS' Freshman and Sophomore classes...a fantastic introduction to the future of the company.
This four-day excursion to one of the nation's leading regional theaters, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, features workshops with working professionals from OSF, a series of outstanding Festival shows, and a chance to really connect with Company members. **This event is limited to enrolled Wilson HS Students.**
SHUT UP! YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO. YOU'RE NOT MY REAL DAD!
What do you get when you combine an Ensemble of (SW)2 performers, 25-40 original 1-3 minute-ish plays by (SW)2's house writers, and an audience selecting the evening's performances from a menu of delectable stage treats? Neither do we! Find out when 'Shut Up...' comes back in May.
What happens when you give young artists an open mic, a raucous audience, and five minutes at the end of a marathon theatre and school season? Find out at this year's (SW)2 Comedy Night, featuring standup sets from some of our funniest personalities and guest appearances by the (SW)2 Improv Team.
Imprah! The Improv Marathon
The (SW)2 Improv Team performs the six hour comedy marathon Imprah! each spring as a part of the WHS Spring Fundraising campaign.
(SW)2's annual end-of-season celebration, the Troscars are a wonderful time for Company members, patrons, friends, and family to raise a (metaphorical) glass in honor of a job well done. Activities include:
-Announcement of the 2017-2018 Executive Board and Performance Season
-Company/Thespians Induction and WHS Letter Awards
-and, of course, the Troscars themselves
